style="width:23.08em; float: left; padding-right: 0; display: inline;" class="post_column_1">
Hi all, Greetings from Hong Kong. For your information, I’ve known Yankit for a while now and he’s been trying to get me to start my own beauty column here on Nookmag. I was a bit hesitant at first since I wasn’t sure if I’m up to it nor was I sure if it will be interesting enough. But since he assured me it’s just about having fun and sharing things that I like, hence here I am. So, this is Tiffany and this is my column.

I was cracking my head on what should I share on my first post, since it’s summer, I’ve decided to share some tips on how you can maintain a perfect make up throughout the day. Since majority of the readers of Nookmag are located in South East Asia where it’s forever summer, you must be doubtful about what a girl from Hong Kong can share but I assure you that during summer, the Pearl of Orient is just as hot and humid!

So, some basic tips.

Hydrate your skin prior to your foundation
Massage your face with hydrating lotion after cleaning, and remove it with toner. (Use ONLY warm water if your skin is dry.) Follow by your base & foundation.

Always touch up before your make up smear
The last thing you want is a smear face on a first date, use tissue to press your face lightly whenever possible, and apply some powder after. (It goes better with a sponge under tissue)

Cotton butts! Don’t leave home without it.
When your eye makeup is going no where, use some foundation or BB cream to remove it gently with a cotton butt. Apply some powder on and re-do your eye shadow. (needless to stay, a symmetrical is the key)

Always keep a concealer with you
Over the long day, when you find that foundation on the side of your nose is no longer even, apply some liquid concealer, blend it with your finger and apply some powder to touch up.

The above serves as basic tips on how you can maintain a wonderful make throughout the day. Make up products are very subjective but these are some of the products which I recommend.

Toner : <a

strange way of proving itself. For example, I made provision to leave the
house much earlier but still end up being late for the Airport pickup. I
used the GPS to avoid getting lost but the GPS decided to give us the Tour
of Singapore instead. I've been driving for donkey years but still manage to
reverse to the hotel pillar where Calvin was putting up. Luckily my car
wasn't solid enough to bring down the building but it did cost me a bomb to
get the car fixed. Planned to do the interview while having Satay in Lau Pa
Sat but end up riding. Yup, I met up with the man but did not do the
interview. Hmmm Maybe Im just not cut out to be a real journalist but hei..,
I did manage to get the interview done in the end didn't I? Email interview
is just so wonderful. If you have read so far but has no idea who or what FixiePixie.com is, I
suggest you carry on reading or visit FixiePixie.comYK:Yankit
Calvin: Calvin CYK: Can you share with us a little bit about yourself and your love for
Fixed Gear?
Calvin: Corporate slave by day, fixed gear rider by nite lol. FixiePixie is
an independent body that rides, loves, writes & shares about fixed gear
scene around the world. Founded in late 2007, started riding & fell in love
with it since then. I love the simplicity of a fixed gear & yet easy to
maintain minus off the usage of tires.YK:What prompted you to start FixiePixie.com & what's the idea behind the
website?
Calvin: It was pretty spontaneous and it happened so quickly, it was all out
from my head. And I can see there's room to grow in this scene back in 2007.
The idea behind FixiePixie is to share all about fixed gears & on the other
end is to gather more people to ride and share the same passion.YK:Can you share with us the fixie scene in Hong Kong? The main crew and
their usual route and hangout?
Calvin: I would personally think that the fixie scene is pretty wide spread
& active in Hong Kong. As in, there are many riders here & they share the
same love for it. As time goes by, you can see many new faces & bikes
mashing around here in Hong Kong. FYI, Hong Kong consists of Hong Kong
Island, Kowloon & New Territories with more than 7 million people, so you
can imagine many riders are jumping on this band wagon day by day. It's
growing rapidly.YK:Your recent collab with Flesh Imp Singapore will be on the rack by end of
March, Its really an unusual collaboration especially now that you are based
in Hong Kong, what's the background?
Calvin: Really? Ha-ha. Yes it is. This idea came out off our heads
(Nicholas, Founder of Flesh Imp & I) at one very fine day on Facebook. We
have lost touch for many years until recently. We have known eachother for
almost 10 years, we met when I was back in Singapore as a Corporate Slave as
well....again!?? So, the idea was pretty speedy & instantly we are on the
track to a collaboration. Coincidently, this year marks the 10th Anniversary
of Flesh Imp. So in order to make it a blast, we went all the way out &
created this so called unusual collab, also to tell people that wherever you
are, we are all as one, no limitations!YK:What kinda of setup are you currently riding and what other bike do you
own?
Calvin:I'm currently riding a freestyle fixed gear frame + fork from an
upcoming FixiePixie collaborating with InFamous (an upcoming branding for
fixed gear frames, forks & etc.) These frames will hit you very soon. I just
own a bike, I believe 1 is enough....personally.....as I have only a pair of
legs....haha.YK:If other fixie riders are keen to drop by Hong Kong, where are the must go
places for these riders to leave their mark?
Calvin:Hong Kong Island, Kowloon & New Territories......all in a day! That
leaves a very deep mark!YK:Fixed Gear Bike is really an eye candy and often affiliated strongly to
the street culture, hence heaps of people are joining the fixie wave, what's
your say about this?
Calvin:Yeah I totally agree! It's the hype. Fixed gear bike always relates
to fashion nowadays. Some people might think it's a fashion statement but to
me, riding a fixed gear is pretty personal, it depends how you want to build
it & ride it. I still remember back in the days when I first started riding
a fixed gear, some people on the streets think it is crazy to go without
brakes on a bike, but I do believe by now, they are on their fixed gear
bikes as well.....don't they?YK:Apart from 'no free wheel' , 'brakeless', & 'many risk'. Describe fixed
gear in other terms
Calvin:Fast. Dangerous. Scary. Illegal....don't try this at home!YK:Lastly, is there any plans in the pipeline for Fixie Pixie?
Calvin:Hmm...yes there are. In planning & talking cycle. More collaborations
coming up? Yes? No? You will know. Thanks Calvin for your time, appreciate the tips and insights! Thank you....
Wanton noodle is on me the next time round.Yankit

I caught up with Calvin C, the man behind FixiePixie.com when he was in town

Jing Clicks: Depression

Flavors

apparel

depression

singapore
<guid

BIG kudos to Hot Toys for NOT using the old rubber muscle body, which would wreck the pose-ability of the figure and bulk him up too much. Hot Toys crew shows great improvement from the initial prototype and the final product as well.
<div

Sure, there are some minor details that are off such as the hairline and facial expressions which can be improved (no toy is perfect in that sense) but most importantly it’s unmistakably Snipes in the Blade character. When I looked at FLB, I see its style and design as unique and I see it as not over the top.
They don't have a new collection every now and then but they hits you when inspiration strike.
I think that's way more important then trying to make a quick buck out of you.
A lot of blogshop owners sell whatever they think the majority would buy but not considering the fact that everyone else is also selling and wearing the same thing.
In conjunction to their up & coming FLEASHLIGHT BATTERY : Flea market II on the 27th March @ Scape Youth Park.
Thus I've specially invited the Sheila and her co.founder Jasine of FLB to share with us how they first brought FLB to Singapore fashion scene, what sets them apart from other online shop owners, entrepreneurs wannabes and more…
S=Sheila, J=Jasmine,
How did FLB first started?
S: we started out posting random pix and then some works n apparels.
J: i still remember we were at esplanade's popeyes and sheila was making a bracelet with all the gardenia bread expiry tags while i was enjoying my chicken
What does the name FLB means/represent?
S: Flashlightbatteriess. We were at some Karang Guni shop and we saw this random book with the word on it.
How old is FLB this year and how established are you?
S: It's a year old & its establish enough to earn from nuffnang, establish enough to be known on the net
J: establish enough to organise an awesome fleashlightbattery flea market.
What is FLB style? (emo? British punk?)
S: Seriously, we dot have any particular style
Despite that, why would people still support FLB and why do they still buy from FLB?
S: we don't know. i guess they like our ideas, not our styles.
J: hmmm.. its hard for us to be humble about this - FLB ROCKS!!! Hahahahahaha.
How/Where do you get the ideas for the clothing's? (brain storming? Or Anything that comes to mind?)
S: we don't brainstorm. inspiration from online shops n blogs n randomly
What do you consider yourself? (Blogshop? Blog sharing space?)
S:We are not a blogshop, more like a blog sharing space.
What do you mean by blogsharing space?
S: we share random posts, vacations, inspiring quotes, random thoughts, besides just selling our products.
i think that's how we have people keep coming back to our site.
J: we post anything which comes to our mind. If u browse through FLB you will know what I mean! plus I think FLB makes our readers and buyers feel more 'personal' to us and we are NOT a blogshop!
Congratulations to the recent flea hosted by FLB at scape park,I was there and the turnout was great. Is FLB looking in the direction of hosting more fleas in the future?
S: thanks. yeah definitely. *scape gave us a feedback that our crowd was great and they wished to work with us in future.[/column]
Will FLB be intending to open a shop in Singapore eventually?Do you have any upcoming event with conjunction to the release of the article?
S: no we don't. but we have FLEASHLIGHT BATTERY : Flea market II on the 27th March @ Scape Youth Park.
Lastly, what advised would you give to entrepreneurs that wants to open an online blog shop?
S: be humble, never give up, keep it short n sweet.
J: most importantly, be different!
With FLB, everything comes from inspiration, everything are hands on, do you need to be convince any further?
Thanks a lot to Sheila and Jasmine for their interview with Nook Fashion Column.

I love it’s simplicity, the way they looked and the fact that it won’t burn your pocket whenever you get a new pair. So if you are looking for something comfy, nice and value for money, Take a chance, take SK8 High. If you are wondering, yes.. I just bought a new pair!

Most of the Hot Toys’ fans out there would have seen the magnificent Battle Damaged version of the Iron Man Mark III. How could I miss the chance to rave on this as well? Hot Toys Company is indeed sucking our money DRY. Firstly, they remake The Dark Knight series to DX The Dark Knight. However it is with extreme similarities and extra weapons, parts, etc… you named it. And now… The Iron Man series. This Battle Damaged figure is apparently the DX version of Iron Man. But as you know, the sequel of the Iron Man movie is coming up in May 2010. I guess Hot Toys wouldn’t mind collecting more money by remaking more figures from the first movie.

This figure is too good to be missed, so pack your current Mark III, sell it, dump it, and make space for this. The figure is turning out more awesome than I expected. More opening panels, a battle damaged flip-top that reveals a new face sculpts, interchangeable chest plate, crushed helmet, a new base… It’s truly a superior figure to the standard Mark III in every way. I think the light-up feature might have been sacrificed for the sake of adding more moveable parts, but I hardly ever turn the lights on anyway. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.
<div
